		<description><![CDATA[Most Sudanese refugees end up in the neighboring countries, in Chad, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, South Africa, but some travel much further. Several hundred file for refugee status in the UK every year, so I expect the same is true in the US. 
I don&#039;t know about New York, but there will certainly be Sudanese people there, maybe a local support network or something. The Sudanese embassy in the US may be able to help: www.sudanembassy.org
I also remember hearing about a Sudanese church in Des Moines. They would be able to tell you more about the diaspora in the US:
