The Oil Age Poster

oil-age-poster

I ordered the Oil Age poster the other week, having heard it recommended here and there. It arrived the other day and it’s a great piece of work. The poster shows the rising curve of oil use, with world events plotted along the way, and includes production and consumption graphs at the bottom. I expect it to be very useful in explaining peak oil to unsuspecting visitors.

If you’re involved in any kind of education or awareness raising on these kind of issues, you can order a copy from the Post Carbon Institute.  I paid $12 for mine, but it is available free for schools and charities.

Apparently this poster inspired Shaun Chamberlin’s book The Transition Timeline, imagining the world events down the other side of the energy curve.
