You may be familiar with the work of Yann Arthus Bertrand, the world renowned aerial photographer behind the ‘Earth from Above’ books. His coffee-table books have always had an environmental cause in mind, but he has taken this one step further in his movie ‘Home’. Described as a ‘hymn for the planet’, the film takes those images to the big screen with a message about climate change, pollution and injustice. I haven’t had a chance to watch it all the way through yet, but it looks like a broad ranging and beautiful film. Mathieu Helie at Emergent Urbanism has a thoughtful review.

Home is being distributed free of charge online, in a series of languages. Visit the Youtube site here to watch the film, or the official site here, although really this deserves a larger screen than Youtube’s.

    Jeremy,

“Home” is simply breath-taking and thought-provoking! I’m trying to screen it at no cost in my city. Now it might be I’ll also screen the movies from your great list: http://makewealthhistory.org/2008/08/06/top-ten-films-to-change-the-way-you-see-the-world/.

    Nice job!
